Reevaluate the job I am doing. Look for a reason(s) why I got bypassed.

I certainly would sit back and think ''how the hell did that happen ?'', and assess myself on where I went wrong. Subordinates bypassing you reflects on you, and your leadership skills as their superior.

First, I do not use the terms "subordinates" or "superiors". It's just a sore spot of mine.
To answer your question, if someone goes over the head of someone whom I supervise and comes to me, I send them back and tell them to both come to talk with me. I do this when the person I supervise knows nothing about someone going over his/her head.

salamo alaykom ,
i think that it represents a critical and very tough situation .
u would like to know what to do , ok , the practical solution should go like that :
1 - keep your job , don ' t leave it till you find another one .
2 - make an ashley swot analysis & get the results .
3 - analyse all the results (what was wrong ? me or them ).
4 - make your decision accordingly ,
if it was from you , you ' d know what you ' ve to do .
if it was their bad evaluation , you should find a better job .
don ' t worry , life is full of surprises but when you know what is wrong ? and what is right ? u ' ll feel satisfied .

I guess the old saying applies:
Be careful of the *** you kick today as it may be the *** you have to kiss tomorrow.

I would have to ask myself why they felt the need to go over my head?
