They were unlucky and the penalty was never a penalty, Henry's dive should be given an Academy award, at least Italy gave some justice to the Portuguese. Forca Portugal - 4 best in the World is still good, better than a lot of others out their, so eat your hearts out.We should have played with more strikers.

Portugal lose because they did not score any goal to France while France score to them. Again luck was not on their side even though they played better than their opponent but they couldn't score a goal.

because henry went down tooooooooo easily for the penalty, plus france paid the ref equals france winning and then losing against italy!But look on the bright side portugals rankings will be higher than england and brazil's. and we're gonna make third place!!!!!!!!!!

no decent striker. Pauleta - one good shot the entire game.
France had reasonably good defence (ok Bartez is variable, but can be brilliant),
But mainly, to score you need to standing up in the box, not lying down asking for a penalty/free kick all the time.
Ronaldo and Figo are good, but Ronaldo kept diving and Figo is only one man.

Their finishing was poor. Figo should have scored from the Barthez fumble. Playing Pauleta as the lone striker up front meant that all their best chances were shots from outside the penalty area. They simply didn't create enough clearcut goal scoring chances and the two that they did create they didn't make them count. You don't score goals, you don't win.

On the night, they just didn't have what it takes.
They are a very good team though, lets not take that away from them. They reached the top 4 in the world cup, and that is already very good.
But if you don't score, you don't go through.

coz france r better than them n they over powered them using zidane n their attacking players. Also they didnt cause a big enough threat. if u watched after the match they said that france could of bin out there 4 another 5 hours n not concede coz they didnt attack.
