The following years would be severly dreadful because of all the ash in the atmosphere. We would go without sunlight and a lot of plants would die. It would also be next to impossible because in order for all volcanic eruptions to occur you need to have tension occuring on all fault lines.
In order for tension to occur, all the tectonic plates in the world would have to be rubbing against each other. The only possible way for every fault line to have tension is if the Earth opened up thus pushing the plates in one direction. It's like those puzzles where you have to move the little squares around to make the picture but there's one square missing so that's how you can move the squares. You can never fill that hole. Same concept for the Earth. You can't make all the tectonic plates fit together perfectly to fill the holes.

A similar occurrence is believed to have happened about 11,500 years ago. It involved a major upheaval of the earth's crust including massive chunks of land dropping into the ocean and mountains being formed.
Most of the lifeforms were, of course, destroyed. Enough survived and repopulated the planet.

it would be a bad year for satellite TV/Radio reception and so you should sell Sirius and XM stock short and make a bundle so that you could afford to live in your bunker until the sun comes out again...
Or perhaps the earth would act like punctured balloon and go
whirling out into space as it deflated... in which case you would probably see the earth crash into Mars or Venus and then within two weeks there would be a Starbucks on every corner of that planet...
