Your description does not give a specific diagnosis, nor any additional details or symptoms that might help me give you a more appropriate response.
If your ears are blocked by fluid behind the eardrum (a MIDDLE EAR infection), it can take several weeks for the fluid to fully subside even after the antibiotics have killed the bacteria.
If the Doctor is treating you for a Sudden Sensorineural hearing loss due to a suspected INNER EAR infection, the the issue is a bit more serious, and you may want to go to an Otolaryngologist (ear, Nose and Throat Specialist) for a second opinion to see if treatment with steroids is warranted.

Get in the shower and let warm water into your ear as long as it is not too painful. Once you are out of the shower and dry get a blow dryer and put it on a warm not hot setting. Keeping a comfortable distance from your ear (at least 6 inches) direct the air flow into your ear moving it in circles so that it does not continuously stay in one spot. Also you can take a wash cloth and wet it with warm water and hold it to your ear keep reheating it. A heating pad set on low can ease the pain as well.
The wax cones can be dangerous and hydrogen peroxide can cause persistent aggravating problems.
You have my most sincere sympathy and best wishes. I know quite well the agony this problem can be. Stay clear of public swimming pools.

Try going to your local pharmacy for an "ear syringe" (it's kinda like those bulbs dr.'s use to clear an infant's airway). All you need to do is, fill the syringe up with water. Tilt your head. Insert the syringe in the effected ear, and squeeze.
This might sound a little on the crazy side, but believe me IT WORKS. My boyfriend has a REAL problem with his ears getting blocked about every 2 months.
Oh, and by the way, this works for Earwax buildup, and Swimmer's Ear.

I used to struggle with acne for a long time before i stared using at home remedies. My personal favourite is using aloe vera, after washing your face rub some in to your skin make sure its all rubbed in and it gets rid of your pimples. I usually use it before i go to bed so when I wake up i have nice clear skin. Another great one is the aspirin mask. take plain uncoated aspirin pills and put about two to three drops of water on each pill (about 2 or 3 should do your whole face) and let them get all mushy. then put it on like a mask and leave it on for 15 minutes then wash it off. the only thing about the mask is you can only do it at the most once a week. I hope all these work for you!! good luck on your clear beautiful skin :)

This is an old remedy that one of my uncle's used on me when I was a young boy.He used to blow smoke from a cigar or pipe into the opposite ear several times and it always seemed to help with the blockage and any pain that went along with it.

Ok, i have heard, that if you put a piece of garlic in your ear and cover it with a cotton ball that's been soaked in rubbing alcohol this helps. I would be careful not to have the cotton ball dripping in alcohol you know just dab some on. My mom, told me this was a remedy they used back in the early 50's and it worked on her. If this is an infection, it will probably work, if you have damage to your eardrum, this won't work.

If you know a smoker, have them very gently blow some smoke in your ear. It may not unclog it right away, but it will take the soarness out for you. Take care.

Try laying on your side and pouring a cap full of hydrogen peroxide in your ears. let it sit for about two minutes then turn over to let it drain.

Ear cones. I am not sure where to get them but my friend swears by them. I think GNC has them.
