Well now, let's examine this for a bit. If ALL rap music were gone forever, the entire genre would be gone. Granted, I listen to techno, dance, club music; but I do recognize that some of it is pretty bad, like the gangsta rap, but some of it ain't all that bad. Granted, this is a stupid "yes-no" response, but it bears to be answered in depth. If all country music were gone at the push of an "easy-button" some would do it in a heartbeat, but I don't think that all rap music needs to be gone, just the ones that bother the one who asked this question.

I'd pay to destroy rap music. That crap isn't even music. Every problem with the black community (opression and disrespect of women, unemployment, gangs, drugs, violence, uneducation) is glorified through rap. Many blacks blame this on history and whites, but only black people can choose to be, or to look up to, role models. 50 cent and Jay-Z have a freehold as role models on the black community.

I really don't like music that isn't instruments being played. This genre has become minimum effort for maximum reward. So my answer is yes, I would kill it, but if it continues to sample songs from the past (ex. Diddy sampling Sting)

No, because even though I have disliked rap ever since it turned violent and about gangs and bling, if they weren't rapping, they'd be robbing my house to make their drug money. I'd rather keep these goofballs in enough money to buy their drugs without affecting me. I can simply choose not to listen to rap, and that has been working quite well for me.

I woudn't do it.
Not because I love the way kids are brainwashed into talking trash, but because I like the sense of creativity they put into their lines.

I hope you see what I'm saying, and understand that I'm not really a fan of dirty, sick rap.
It's creativity that pulls me, and sometimes people write wonderful rhymes.
I'd like to kill dirty rap though.

No. I am not a Nazi.

Would I eliminate gangster rap? Yes. Exploitation of women, disrespect for authority, propagation of violence, and glorifying drug use is not appropriate lyrics for children to listen to.

As much as I hate it and Rock, I see no reason to deprive the unimaginative fans of both genders of their fun. If rappers want to listen to regurgitated 25 year old music and rockers want to listen to 30-40 year old regurgitated music that's up to them.
