You are wrong, and this is part of the problem.
Generalization is the entire issue here.
Based on what you are saying, the *world* is against Muslims.
Would I be correct in saying; "Due to Muslim extremist terrorism, the Muslims are against the world?" - No, I wouldn't.
Muslims, are *not* the problem. All extremist groups throughout the world are the problem. Extremists in any given situation or group are intolerant of anything that isn't what they believe. That is why they are extremists. Extremist Muslims are just the flavor of the month. I will be the first to preach cultural identification. However, that identification has to fit within a humanity norm.
In other words, human rights and abuse must be addressed. What the world finds heinous in extremist Muslim culture, is not the way they worship, but the way they treat other human beings. Although honor defended to a fault, women are treated as sub-human. Criminals are beaten, mutilated and tortured based on law. Extremists are more than willing to kill their own people, or innocent people in the name of pride or honor. They seem to have little regard for their actions or the fact their actions make the situation even worse. They commit the same crimes they accuse others of commiting and use those accussations as a basis to commit the same crimes.
I *am* a supporter of the death penalty for certain crimes, but only if the person put to death has been proven 100% to be guilty of the crime, and they have been "judged" by a jury of their peers. I am not a supporter of stoning someone to death because I feel they dishonored their family.
The IRA has renounced and spoken out against violence. They are going the political route, and getting much better results.
Anyway... I enjoy the company of my Muslim friends and encourage my son to do the same. So, we aren't against Muslims.

Most of the people I know understand that there are just a few extremists giving Muslims a bad reputation. So, I don't agree that we blame everything on Muslims. Even though the ETA and IRA were terrorist groups, they have recently decided to give up armed conflict and use a more diplomatic approach. Perhaps the extremists in Islam will follow that path one day.

I don't think all Muslims are horrible people. It's just unfortunate that one group of a particular people does something horrible and the rest of the people get blamed. It was like this to the Germans in WWII. In a few generations when we finally leave the Middle East people won't be so concerned about Muslims.
I think your religion, culture, history, art and traditions are beautiful - and I wish other people could accept you as individuals instead of a group. Some things that Muslims do I don't agree with (such as female rights) but I understand why you do the things you do.
There are always terrorists groups, its just unfortunate that the Middle East is the hotspot and its what is in the minds of the American people these days - more than ever, with so many families having their sons, daughters, friends, sisters, brothers, mothers and fathers over in the Middle East fighting for a war that not everyone believes is right.

I do not hold a grudge against anybody practicing the Muslim religion. None! In fact I have even started reading the Quran to broaden my horizons. But the only thing that I remind people of is that the U.S. is one nation under God. This country's vary foundation is built on those words and the christian religion. You are free to practice any you see fit (staying with in the law) but remember our national language is English and for the most part Christianity is still the main religion. The U.S. population should not be made to conform to all the outsiders moving in to the country and finding our ways offensive. If our ways are so offensive, go back home!!! Granted it is a bad time world wide and Muslim's are put in to one giant category unjustly. Like putting all men in the same category because one scorned you. Not fare at all. Hopefully the world will work through all this stuff and live in peace before all is lost. Not all westerners think this way...

Most people are wrong about most Muslims. My personal physician is a Muslim from Pakistan. He is a wonderful person. We get along fine and religion has never been brought up in conversation. Perhaps this is why we get along so well.
We all have fanatical groups who think their way is the only way. In the USA it was always the KU Klux Klan. While they are still around they are a very small group and any more they are nothing but a joke. However, they don't go around killing people who don't think the way they do.
Live and let live. I believe what I want, you believe what you want. If we could all just mind our own business this would be a much better place.

Perhaps if you encouraged your fellow Muslims to integrate with society, and to stop harping on about being Muslims, you would find you get less hassle.
As a Muslim why do you not all come out and denounce the acts of Terror commited by your fellow Muslims and join the rest of the world in trying to stop acts of terror.
During the second world war American Catholics did not hesitate in fighting Fascist Italian Catholics, and British Protestants fought Nazi German Protestants
ETA and the IRA were not commiting acts of terror to support a religion but a somewhat missguided cause.

I agree with what you are saying. The problem is that when something bad happens (like the terrorist attacks in the USA) and one kind of person made the attacks (like Muslims or whomever) then some people will say "well all of this group of people are evil" when in reality not everyone is. The only Muslims I blame are the ones behind terrorist activity but not ones like you who are just trying to live their lives.

All people fear what they do not know. Most Western Countries have a small Islamic population. It doesn't matter if you are a Muslim or a Christian, some people are good and some do evil things. I am a Christian and if you look back through our history we have done some terrible, TERRIBLE things to a lot of different groups of people. But, I don't want to be judged by the actions of other Christians. People just need to look and themselves and their history before they go pick out a particular group and condemn them.

i don't necessarily agree with stereotypes, but they are created for a reason. Although the majority of most races don't follow the stereotypes created about them, the small few that are the exact reason why the good have to suffer for the bad. The problem is that you cannot changes the public view on stereotypes. They are a problem that has to be settled from within. There-in lies the bigger problem. Any time a race or group/ culture tries to imrove itself by calling out those who create the problems, the problem solvers are inevitably called traitors.
Just know that there are people out there who do not agree with closed-minded views. Acceptance is a policy that is best implemented from within.

Your not wrong, Islam itself is a very peaceful religion. Just like Christianity. However, people are using Islam to group societies together to demonize them. I don't think that all Muslims are terrorists, just like people in the east shouldn't think that all Americans are terrible people.
