HDTV Over the air Reciever?

I bought a reciever from Wal-mart, it had a USB port on the back and a slit on the frount, I'm assumeing somesort of card goes there. The mannual down't adress eithor if these ports. Can anyone tell me what they're for. What can I connect to the USB? What is the slit on the frount for?

The card slot may have something to do with getting the "cable channels" over the air at a future date. Right now it is for future use.
