although we may care for the person we are with, I think most people take the one they are with for granted.....think they will always be there no matter what

Because the grass is always greener on the other side, or at least it seems that way. We perceive that what we don't have might be better than what we do, and we're afraid of missing something. It's unfortunate, but human nature. The ability to refuse to give in to temptation comes with a maturity not all of mankind achieves, unfortunately.

Do we? I can only speak from personal knowledge, but I've been married to the same man for 55 years, and neither of us has cheated. In our circle of friends, there have been only two divorces, and they had nothing to do with cheating. So your basic premise seems a little off....

Because it's in our nature to experience other gene pools as often as possible. Maybe if people did this more often, we would see a change for the better. Lions do it, and they're the kings of the animal world. Humans have just gotten weak-natured and complacent over the centuries. It's about time for evolution to start kicking in.

not everyone cheats, my parents never did, but i did because i was either bored, not feeling the relationship anymore or saw something that i like more!

but the relationship in now I would NEVER cheat! i have found my soul mate so i would never thinking of ruining that!

Your question reveals a great deal about YOU, and nothing about the rest of us. YOU being a cheater assume that all people are like you therefore you word your question with a "we" instead of an "I". Those of us who understand commitment, devotion, love, and self control do not cheat. Those of you who confuse sexual passion with love will always cheat. Just don't lump us in with you.

I guess we get bored - we think that our boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse doesn't appreciate us anymore. We want the excitement of a new relationship again without giving up the comfort of the first relationship.
