RBI stands for Runs Batted In. When someone gets a "hit" and another players scores based upon this "hit" it is an RBI. RBIs can be scored in other situations too, such as a sacrafice fly.

Runs Batted In, it's the number of runs other people have gotten off of your hit
ie-if you hit it out to left field with the bases loaded and the outfielders don't catch it, you make it to first and the man on 3rd makes it home, you get credit for that as a run batted in
