And if so then why? (besides the lack of excercise part).

LIfe is about balance. All work and no play ain't good. Too much telly is definitely bad. Well, how many hours are you spending on the TV anyhow? Do something useful; like help to clean house, read a book - and don't forget your homework and assignments too.

I think television is much maligned. I have learnt a lot from television, and not always from "educational" programmes. True getting out there and seeing the world is nice, but I think the idea that tv rots the brain is wrong.

Big Brother, on the other hand I firmly believe to be lethal after 30 minutes.

I think so! When i am on my holidays i watch bou20hrs of t.v a day for the past 12 yrs. And i am only16. My eyes have become very sensetive and at times i cant c very gud! And i also at times loose feeling in my muscles due to the lack of excersise. I am not over weight and i eat healthy but i loose feeling.
Also my mam says that it disturbes brain activity and damages brain cells due to the gamma radation coming from the tvs.

I think too much television is bad for you because you don't have to use your imagination or your brain when you are sitting there zoned out watching.

I think so, because it destroys imagination and creative thoughts. I don't watch TV much and my sister does, and it's all she ever talks about and all her creative writing contains an idea she saw on TV. It's bad in that respect, at least.

Watching tv at all is bad. BUT watching movies (good movies) isnt bad.
Go listen to some music, get some exercise, etc, too.

Yeah it's really bad for you. Experts say that it stimulates your brain into a state of inactivity... Doesn't really effect me though! I'm always watching the telly.

Yes i think so as you are not stimulating your own brain, people on the telly are doing it instead, better to be doing something that does stimulate you sometimes like reading, or sports or clubs. its not always good to live your life through other people.
