My friend's mac have a problem with her programs in mac. She said the programs just activate itself automatically like YM or the firefox. I couldn't help my friend because I have little knowledge in mac. maybe someone knows the solution in our problem. thanks...

the application/program such as YM and firefox will pop up and start to run by itself.

In the preferences of each app, uncheck where it says to start the app up when you start the computer. Also, you can go into System Preferences > Accounts, select the account, and click the Login Items tab.

I've owned a mac for over a decade. Never had that problem. Is she clicking on something that is activating the program? Call Apple's tech support - 800-275-2273. Maybe they can help.

Check system preferences to see if the offending program is set to start up automatically. You can change the settings for the program there.

That's not so much a Mac issue as a software one. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the offending programs.
