This will help, Shipmate.
An US Navy seaman walks by he sees 3 US Marine Corps sargents measuring a flagpole and was having a difficult time at it. As watching them for approximately 10 minutes, the seaman suggested that they lay the flagpole down and get the required measurement.
With a quick response, one of the marines said, "... thank you for the idea, but we are trying to get the height not the length!"
