I roll down the window, because I have this paranoia that I'm going to lock my keys in my car for some reason. I lean my @ss up against the side of the car (which always makes butt prints to enjoy later), and watch everyone else do their thing. I usually get a lot of attention.

just stand there, you act as if your going to present an award at the Kodak Theatre. What's the big deal. just have a hand on the pump and leave the other hand only. Don't leave the car door open, that's just an easy way to get your car stolen. I can say from personal experience that you don't even leave your items in the car (even if the door is locked) you think that all you're going to do is pay for 30 secs and return to your car and realize that you've just been robbed. That happened to my mother. Watch you back and just be smart and relaxed about the situation. Just stand there okay.

Back against the car, one hand in pocket. I try not to break contact with the car in case I should blow myself and my car and the gas pump and the whole gas station up by creating a static spark. You should never ever go back into your car and then out again while filling the tank, or kaBOOM!

I have to go inside at the gas station. I am allergic to the smell of gasoline. So, someone else has to pump.
Inside: I am too busy talking to the owners so I really don't know how I stand. And I never leave my door open.

I stand with one hand on the pump and one leg up on the cement curb surrounding the pump. Sometimes one hand on my hip. And no, I don't leave my door open! And I don't talk on my cell phone either!

Actually I used to set the pump so it would automatically pump the gas then I would clean the windshield while I waited for the tank to fill.

I lean against the car, fold my hands across my chest while looking at the gas pump.

One hand on the pump, the other is usually fiddling around with the gas cap to make it go under the handle properly to prop it at full speed so I don't need to hold onto it... but it just never works for me. I think I must look like a total dork... thanks for reminding me dammit=(

We get out petrol pumped in by attendants... That is a full on job here in South africa... Every pertrol station has at least 5 petrol pump attendants who was your windscreen, do your tires, check oil and water, and put in petrol.. for free! Well we tip them!!
Shame, you guys have to fill your cars up yourselves! Thats weird!!! Heidi

None of the above, I engage the little lever that holds the pump handle open and while my tank is filled I wash my windows.
