Isn't it from one of the 'Back to the Future' movies - I am sure i picture Christopher Lloyd saying 'Nothing - That's the beauty of it' in the crazy way he does, when Michael J Fox asks what one of his wacky inventions does - the more i think of it the more certain I am of it - man, can someone verify if this is correct - don't want to watch all moves again to find out - lol

Well, I googled the whole quote and actually found it on someone else asking about it on another message board. The answer someone gave was a movie called The Castle, originally an Australian flick, brought over to the U.S.

There was something similar in a episode of friends where monica and rachael lose a bet and move into joey's and monica can't figure out what a light switch does and asks joey. That might be it, if not watch it it's very funny!
