I agree that he is over-rated. He is a very good player and I have seen him play many time when he was still in the QJHML, but I do not think that he should have been elevated so quickly as they did. I do not believe Sidney Crosby to be the best in the NHL - yet. He has potential, however he has not yet reached his peak. I have lived in a hockey town all my life, and never has a man gotten so much hype around here. But, I think that this hype is unwarranted. Not only does he need to pay his dues, but he needs to expand as a player and finish becomming a great player. He has the potential, but he has not yet reached the lever where I think he deserves all this hype.

Sid deserves to be alternate captain for a couple of reasons. First of all, he led his team in scoring. Secondly, he's a playmaker, putting the team ahead of his own goal scoring talents. Finally, Pittsburgh has an incredibly young team, and even the more experienced players on the squad look up to him because of his talent. As for whether Crosby is overrated, I don't think so. Maybe a little...there has been talk (from the great one himself) that Crosby could do well enough to break some records before it's all over. Yeah, he might break a few. They kid can do things with a puck that I've never seen before. But to think that Crosby will score 2,858 points is bordering on ludicrous. Gretzky had a lot of help in the 80's to get to where he is...Not to take anything from Wayne...Crosby just doesn't have that kind of help right now, and he may never. I see Sid getting around the Mark Messier/Gordie Howe range, maybe even 2000. He's definitely going to be one of the greats. Remember, he's not even 19 until next month.

I don't think he's overrated at all. Probably doesn't deserve to come into the league and wear the A, but you never know. That might have been thrown into his contract. What Crosby needs more than anything is good players around him. Remember, Michael Jordan played for 6 years before he won his first title. It took that long to build a winning team picking the pieces up one player at a time. Same deal here.

Well obvioulsy Ovetchkin should of got more hype than Crosby. To me Crosby is just a good passer and is quick and thats it. Now is that something to be excited about. He is boring to watch on tv, I mean he makes nice plays every once and a while but Ovetchkin man every time he is on the ice he shows the fans something new and exciting. As for giving Crosby the A was a bad Idea, let the kid evolve as a player dont give him more reasponsibilitys. OVETHCKIN is 10 times better.

Sid the Kid is going to do great things in his career and hes not overrated he is only 18 years old and he beat Mario Lemieux rookie season record with the penguins. if you really watch a game i mean really watch one then you will see the passion the vision of the game that he has. he still needs to get stronger and that will come as he gets older but Sidney Crosby is the real deal and we are going to see lots of magical nights from Sid the Kid.

Morgan - 7/10. I certainly do no longer see this as a adult men call, yet i assume it may desire to artwork. Dylan - 9/10. particularly amazing and provides a super variety of character (: Jasper - 10/10 like it Graham - 6/10 i will see this as a final call yet no longer as a midsection call Crosby - 5/10 Meh : Asher - 3/10. Ashton could artwork plenty greater powerful. Sidney - 7/10 no longer the main suitable call

He's the youngest player in the history of the NHL to score over 100 points. If he keeps going like that he will be a hall of famer. Of course you never know though. Others have had great rookie years only to disappear.

No, I do not think that. I am a season ticket holder with the Penguins and seeing him play was amazing. He deserved to wear that 'A' and he took all the responsibilities that came with it. He is a leader on that team. He understands all of the other guys and knows how to bring them all together.
Crosby is an amazing player and he is only going to get better. I can't wait to see him again this year and for many years to come.

Over rated? No. I got to see him first hand last season and even at EIGHTEEN YEARS OLD (think about that for a minute and what you were doing at 18) he didn't look out of place on the ice. He belonged out there. Then on the OLN broadcasts where he was miked, he was definitely a leader on the bench, talking about where he was going to be in certain situations, etc. I think giving him an "A" was fine. His captainship will come later...

I'm undecided. I mean the kid has major talent for being 18, yet everytime he comes to Philly (where I live) and plays, he's all the media talks about. Like I said, he is a great, hardworking player, but I'd rather have Ovechkin on my team.
