Why wouldn't you tell her? Are you embarrassed? Don't underestimate your mother...It would probably make her day if you shared these kind of things with her. She would probably be very happy to give you advice as well. Remember, she is human too and I am willing to bet that she probably shaves too.. I remember when I was young, how embarrassed I felt telling my mom I had started my period. Now I realize how silly that was!

Just say "Mom, what age were you when you started shaving?" She probably won't remember...but it will get her thinking about your need to shave and then you probably won't have to tell her at all. She will probably ask!

i would just tell her that you are embarrased or uncomfortable with having the body hair on your legs & underarms- then i would ask her if she could show you the right way to do it, so that you dont get cut- when i first started i used an electric razor

I never told my mom either, but I'm sure she's guessed by now. If your mom notices your smooth legs and underarms then she probably knows as well.

Personally, I just asked her how to shave! It was kinda awkward at first, but she was OK about it and knew that I was getting to that age! She told me how, and then I could do that by myself the next time! She might think that you don't need her help if you don't ask her, because she probably knows that you ARE getting to be a young woman!!!

"... Mom, I've got an embarrassing question: can you give me pointers on how to shave my legs and underarms?"

Simple, direct, and lets her do her mother thing. You're running out of time for her to do her mother thing ... let her do it as often as she can.

well it was quite funny, because I said to her "can i please have a razor to remove the sharp quills from my legs?" (haha it was awkward so i had to make it sound silly) and shes like "sure thats fine!" and she gave me one of hers. The hair on my legs was becoming PAINFUL when i rubbed it backwards! it was so weird because it was to prickly and would make my skin burn... odd... just tell your mom. she will probably be like "sure thats fine, whatever" haha thats how my mom was.

I didn't ask, I just did it when it needed to be done. I still haven't told her, but since I'm in my 30s, I think she's guessed :P
