As a spectator -- being there where and when it's happening is a thrill for all the senses. I took my son to the ALMS races at PIR the year before last, and as we were crossing the bridge over the front straight to get to the infield, the two Corvettes went by under our feet at full throttle and about 150 mph. The whole bridge shook beneath us, the plywood walls echoed, our legs felt the vibrations all the way up from the track. It was unforgettable.
As a participant -- well, a friend says that music, sex, and driving a race car are three things that are a lot more fun to do for yourself than to watch other people do, no matter how much better they may be at it. :-) That says it all.

Well attending a live event is much more personal than say watching it on TV and you can either go alone if you need that time or bring loved ones & friends. It could become a family or friends reunion. Live each day as if it's your last because you never know when your last breath will be! Party on!

You start the event by tailgating in the parking lot before hand, whether is be sports or a music concert, fans around you aren't ******* but fun fans who enjoy being there as much as you do, didn't pay an arm and a leg to see the event, have a friend or two to enjoy it with, and the weather is beautiful.

I love the sound of the engine and the closeness to the drivers. I need the fellow fans. Even just arguing about who the best driver is is a blast. There is nothing in the world like watching your favorite driver win and being able to scream and yell and raise hell!

Everything, for me its all about attending a live Race. There is nothing like it. The noise, the smell, the crowd just everything. You can't experience that in your living room

Well if you really want to see a race I think seeing it on TV is best. But to get a real feel for racing you have to be there. The sounds are incredible. You can feel the sounds...and to see them fly by you at the fence is just too much. You don't get a sense of the speed until they whip by. I remember the first race I went to at P.I.R. and I got to see the drivers pre-race..that was so cool and I even got to see the Budweiser horses. They are huge. But to really see all there is out on the track I have to see it on TV.
