because everything they support is the archaic policies from the past that have already faile time and again. also they are against any type of progressive change that would make the country a better more affordable place for the middle class

Generally conservatives, who believe in less government think that their initiatives are the best course of action. Granted a lot of federal programs are unlikely to succeed because improving education, the environment and other social programs are extremely difficult to make successful and how exactly do you measure success for a policy, conservative or not? There is no fair way to measure a policy's success but some have worked better than others. Social security has been a great safety net for people over the year's and privatizing it would be wrong because the market is so up and down that giving people more choice would remove the purpose of social security, to act as a 'safety net'. No Child Left Behind was under funded but I also think it was too broad, even fully funded it would be difficult for it to succeed and a good segment of the population is kept out of the statistics for No Child Left Behind. The war in Iraq wasn't so much a policy error as it was making a rash decision without thinking through the consequences once we get Saddam out of power. Policies fail for any number of reasons but this administration doesn't seem to realize when they've made a mistake but conservatives will argue otherwise. It's better to be independent and open-minded and not stick solely to one party blindly.

What has failed? Saddam is gone. There is an elected government that can't invade Kuwait or Saudi Arabia. That was the goal. Think bigger than W.M.D.'s. There are a large number of Shiite leaders working with the U.S. to build a new Iraq. They aren't working with Iranian Shiites. Do you think that is a coincidence? 2 western friendly governments surrounding Iran. Do you get it yet? Iraq is a long term project. By doing what we did in Iraq, we are more importantly dealing with Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. The president had to give other excuses for going in. You can't just announce to the world that we are trying to destabilize a whole bunch of foreign governments. Why don't people get it???

Actually the most successful policy the US has ever had is
social security. It would have a tremendous surplus if they
didn't steal money from it for other things. The biggest problem
we have is politicians that us the words Conservative or Liberal and keep us distracted from important issues

Most of the NEOCON policies fail because they are not well thougt out, Bush's "shoot first ask questions later" mentality has done great damage to our country. Bush needs to be put on trial for treason and his crimes against humanity.

They don't fail, but the democrats and liberals ignore the good and focus all their energy on one or two that didn't work. Have you really listened to the dems? shrill, vicious rhetoric, silly accusations and suppositions, blind hatred turned vocal, VERY VERY VOCAL. They are definately not the "silent majority"!

Actually, the policies end. Liberal policies never end, hence they are a failure in and of themselves.
Welfare, Social Security, etc....
Why were the democrats for slavery?
