Because they are young and impressionable. I tend to absorb everything I can get my hands on, politics-wise, and have gotten to the point where I can distinguish, I think, fact from spin. Stewart, Maher, Moore, Coulter, O'Reiley, and Limbaugh are entertainers, not news-reporters. News is not funny or insulting, it's facts.
Unfortunately, for the younger generation, there are very few, if any, political satirists who appeal to them from the "other side". Sorry, but liberals have better shtick.
I love "The Daily Show" and "Real Time", but take them at face value. Of course, I am no longer a "young person"...

Your question makes no sense. Good satire is generally based in fact and logic. Are you asking "why do so many young people turn to a fake news show for their news?" The answer to that might be that people like it be entertained as well as informed. It might be that The Daily Show does a better run down of current events than many serious news shows. It might be that DS viewers get most of the news off the web and then tune in to get a laugh and see some pretty dang interesting interviews.
Anyway, your question makes little sense. Maybe you should try again.

Some believe him too. The Colbert guy is not funny. He ruines the show. Jon should do the show just by himself. He's funny, but seriously he finds the wrong things people do. He found out George Bush states the obvious too much. Some of his stuff is true, but don't believe the big stuff.

Why do some people think wrestling is real? The same people think the Da Vinci Code is real. People believe what they want, no matter how you prove to them it's not. If this bothers you, just learn to let it go!

Because young people tend to think that anyone that says something with a sarcastic, ironic attitude must be hip and "in the know".
