I've also heard them called "Sheeple"...sheep-people.

I heard the word Sheeple on the Marc Marion Show and think it is very clever. And I only use it when it applies. I am under the belief and I hate to label everyone that supports the pres because some people just truly believe that you should support you pres through think and thin. I can respected that to a certain degree, but it has getting to the point where this becoming a serious problem. People need to wake up to what is really going on in the world and stop this whole "We are fighting the Terrorist there so we don't fight them here" redirect. If you still believe that then fine, I would like to believe that as well but I don't believe that is why we are in this War. So in my opinion if you still believe this administration after all the lies that have told to us then you are a Sheep.

No,no you have it mixed up. It's the Democrats that are called sheep, sometimes mindless sheep. During the depression in the 30's Democrats blamed Republicans and would only vote Democrat no matter what. This mentality was passed down through the generations. They mindlessly supported whatever the Democrat party was for, no matter how evil or asinine.

Because everytime the GOP releases another talking point i.e. "activist judges" "cut and run" "flip-flop""fight them over there so we don't fight them over here...", every conservative from the president down to the common man listening to his right-wing hate radio repeat it over and over ad nauseum. This reminds people of the way sheep just follow without question.

I would like to add that these talking points don't have to have any substance, just a superficial, simple logic to them. Sheep don't like to think.

I think the description is apt.

The term "sheep" is used to describe someone who blindly follows their leader without question. Unfortunately, there are many people who fall into this category and simply say that we have to follow the President just because he is the President. They don't realize that it is our duty as Americans to question our leaders and hold them accountable. That's what freedom of speech is about.

They aren't. They are actually called 'critical thinking humans'. The term 'sheeple' was originally used by conservative radio show to describe liberals. Just another idea stolen by the unused minds of liberals.

How saaaaaaaad.

It is actually the liberals that are the sheepels... They follow each other around going "baa baa blah blah whaa whaa blaa" all of the time and the saying is derived from the common observation of how sheep are heard animals controlled by their own fears.

"Sheep" is termed for those who do not think for themselves as indivduals. Usually when someone has a belief or lifestyle that is viewed as the norm, or traditionally accepted, then they are called "sheep". They flock together in the same herd and they do what their follower tells them to.

Because the stereotype of people who follow the conservative movement in America today is a group marching in lockstep, doing whatever their followers tell them.
