Getting really sick of those sore loser Argentina fans...
Anyway, the Germans lost because of 5 reasons...
1. The Italians were playing a very tough game. The were really good(Even though it pains me to admit it....)
2. Germany's defense wasn't as strong as the Italians. When you get to the finals, you have to start thinking about DEFENSE. Germany's major problem is that their defense line is very young and unexperienced. Of course Philipp Lahm is a wonder, but one good person isn't enough. But I'm willing to bet that they will be stronger for the 2010 WC . They are still very young, and have every room for improvement.
3. Rookie Coach. The Italian coach is a very experienced one, and Klinsmann is going his first coaching job through this tournament. This experience will teach him to use better tactics. There is still room for improvement. Very good for a first timer, I might like to add.
4. Their defense couldn't hold for the last 2 minutes. They were thinking about the penalty shots, and lost their concentration. Again, this comes from the fact that the defense was very young and inexperienced.
5. The match against Argentina.. They used all their energy on that game, running around for 2 hours, and they didn't recover that well. They all seemed worn out. It didn't exactly improve matters that the Italians were really good, and the fact that the Italians had an easier game in the quarter finals didn't help either. Ballack seemed to be suffering from bad condition in the leg(He had cramps in the game against Argentina, and hasn't been able to participate in some of the team practice sessions... Cleary, he isn't in his best form. I sincerely hope he will regain his condition before the Premier League games)
These are my reasons. Overall, the Italians did very well. But I wouldn't call it an easy win. Germans did put up a good fight, and no matter how Italy's arrogant coach wants to rub in their victory against the Germans, the Germans played well. Good job for a young team. You have potential, so don't give up!!

I'm a German fan (living in Canada). Italy deserved the win. Yes, Germany could have (and perhaps would have) won in penalty kicks. BUT, 3 minutes of defensive lapses and it was all decided. The Italian overall seemed to hang back more to make certain that such a lapse would not happen on their side in the last 15 minutes. The Germans kept on playing and paid.
Italy played great, their defense was fabtastic and Buffon is the best goalie of the tournament (yup, Lehmann was good as well, as was Ricardo).
Too bad, Germany will kick Portugal's butt in Stuttgart and France will beat Italy.

Well, Germany wasn't paying much attention to the defense. At the end of the match Germany lost 2-0 because Germany wasn't ready for the ball to come the way it did.

They couldn't hit the net. All their shots were going wide or over the net. They got 2 shots and Buffon Stopped them both. In extra time, the Italians just took over. In the first minute when Gilardino hit the post, right thru to the last minutes, when they scored 2 goals. It also has to do with a lack of coaching for the germans. The german coach was going crazy, throwing water bottles and becoming red like a tomatoe every time they missed the net or Italy had a chance to score. It showed he was enrvous and i think it rubbed off on the players.

Germany became lax in the second half of extra time. They thought the game was going to be decided in penalty shoot-out and their goalie was an expert penalty-saver.

There are a few possible reasons:
1. The German coach Klinsmann isn't as much experience as the Italy's coach.
2. German overlook themselves as their country people are too arrogant.
3. Their tatics is not as good as Italy's.
4. Also German were quite careless. You can see it cos' they missed lota chances. I only wonder if they are careless or under too much stress.

IMHO, they were playing for the penalty kicks. They were already preparing for that since they have a good goalie, so they lowered their guard! Unlike Italy, who fought until the end.
