think about your question...check the spelling...check the grammar...and THEN hit submit.
half the time i cant understand a word you people are asking.....and english isnt even my first language!!!
the only thing that i accept is lack of punctuation...and theres no need to capitalize letters either.

dear jen, i just read that article...and it makes me think that the education system in the united states is going on a very steep downward spiral. why not just learn properly?? why simply and dumb everything down?? it seems ridiculous to me.

It seems to me that our wonderful education system has produced a generation of kids that are incabable of forming intelligible sentences.
I think the text messaging has created the downfall of the English language. Everything is so short-handed.
My most hated abbreviations:
cuz - because
u - you

I type too quickly and sometimes make mistakes - I am too lazy to spell check so cannot complain about those who have terrible grammar or spelling - if I think a question is worth answering then I will do so, regardless of any mistakes - you must remember that English is not the first language of many posters, so you must cut people some slack. You might be referring to one particular person (a young boy) who has various log in names and posts ridiculous questions (also often insults people) - others do not seem to realise that it is one person and keep replying. If I have time I will post some of his log-ins later under this.
For anyone interested he posts as:
2321323123 2, 67678687 8, 3333333 3, DFDSF D, jaws j, who knows, and others - as I said a small boy on the wind-up and best avoided, but that's just what I think - up to you of course!

I agree, but I don't understand why you say there is no need to capitalize letters. That's marked as "wrong" in spelling tests if you don't capitalize correctly.
I hope most of these posts are written by foreigners, because the English usually sounds primitive and illiterate;...or else there are a bunch of six year old kids fooling around here.
Maybe Yahoo should divide the "YAHOO ANSWERS according to the poster's age.

English is not my first language, and since I learned it from a dictionary I have a hard time making the sentences. Spelling and grammar aren't important anyway, but I do agree that people should at least make sure their question is understandable.

yeah, people on here have a big problem with the english language, but I do understand that some people have very limited english experience. But still, there are people that are just stupid and too lazy to check their sentences.

Well your off to a good start. You can't even start you sentence with a capital. So I am sure there are more important and bigger things to complain about. Have a nice DAY!

Yes I think they should and they should also stop miscategorising their questions, like putting a gripe about Yahoo Answers on the world cup section when it clearly has nothing to do with it.

Good luck on your crusade. People are inherently stupid and will always post stupid, poorly worded and misspelled questions and answers. Just deal with it, or don't post in such a forum. We are the minority here if you haven't noticed.

Amen to that!!! Apparently intelligence and technicall savvy (that is, understanding how to click on the spellcheck button) are lacking on these forums.
