In order for mosquitoes to extract a blood meal, the blood must flow easily. In order to make the blood flow easier, they relaease an anti-coagulant, or an anti clotting agent into the blood stream via the saliva. This chemical causes the blood to remain thin and watery so they will have an easier time sucking it through their proboscis. After a while, the body's immune system begins to detect this alien substance and starts fighting it. Antibodies begin attacking the substance, and this is usually why there is swelling and itchines that follow a mosquito bite. Good Question, I hope that helped!

They itch because the mosquito injects an anti-coagulant into your skin, so that your blood is thinned & will not clot - making feeding easier for the mosquito. Humans are allergic to this anti-coagulant - that's why it itches....

the saliva from the bug bite enters the blood stream and the body rejects the chemicals causing irritation and red bumps even blisters try a bath soaking in epsom salt it closes your pores forcing out the chemicals form the bite.
