I am not sure, but i had an ethiopian cab driver who told me the election was stolen and the popular vote had elected the challenger in the last election but those in power put the guy who won in jail and all his supporters and continued to rule. So there is a controversy over who should be president. US will do nothing because Ethiopian gov't helps with war on terror and that's all the US cares about, not fair elections. That's what my cab driver said and i believe him.
