I think they are equal. When you don't have parents who care, and who take the time to pay attention to the children they chose to have in the first place, then they're children will have to grow up fast and fend for themselves. And nowadays when children think of being an adult, the first thing that comes to mind is sex, violence comes right after that.

Biology wins out. Sex is the preeminent driving force for teenagers because, at that stage of life, their hormones are on overdrive. However, because teenagers are so pumped up on hormones, violence is a common side-effect. Young males of most species are prone to fighting either to win a mate or to demonstrate their status. It's just nature: the best a society can hope to accomplish is to figure out an appropriate channel to direct all that energy into something useful.

Sex and violence have been influencing teenagers since the beginning of the human race. It's not a problem specific to our time.

Nothing influences teenage minds better than their parents. And I think the question that you should be asking is why aren't parents influencing their teenagers more often these days.

Your question contains in inherent fallacy. I know a great many teenagers who are not overly influenced by either of those things. If the world can be saved, they will be the ones to do it, and I expect them to succeed.

sex, everyone is bombarded with it from the tv to the internet to the playstation. Violence really only turns teenage boys on. Sex turns everyone on.

THE MEDIA, we are all susseptable to different stimulization, it is how we react, typically teenagers want to fit in to a crowd of people they admire.
