It is very prejudiced of people to think every American is the same.
Also, our government makes us pay enourmous taxes on EVERYTHING, then tells us they are sending money to other countries!
If I had a country to go home to, I would leave America.

I say that if I had a country to go to I would move. I don't really mean that, as I am actually PROUD to be an American.
I just don't understand why the GOV'T sticks OUR noses in where they don't belong. I don't care about spreading democracy, unless another country asked us to. They can have whatever type of leadership they want so long as they don't interfer with ours.
I would like to travel to other countries, but don't out of fear of being kidnapped, or murdered the minute I speak.
And in response to Nelly Furtado- We, as Americans, don't have one religion, that is part of the greatness of America, we are free to worship (or not) as we please. There are Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and I am certain many other practices across the country.

It's not the people of America which the world hates, but the few "priviledged ones", like the policy makers, politicians, lobbyists and capitalists. America's policy makers think that they are god and that what ever they "feel & think" is right for the country should be what it should be and everyone, I mean everyone should tow the line or else. I hate to say this but I think America's way of being on top is to maintain or create chaos and disorder in a region to justify the survival of it's key manufacturing businesses ie: weapons. Think of this, what will happen to companies like grumman, colt etc when the need for war materiel wanes. How about the billion dollar budgets for development of better tanks, guns and even a super soldier? It's a domino effect for most of what built America to what it is now. So with that said I really can't say that the world hates Americans per se, but it is how America's policies affect those in it's receiving end .

people hate what they dont understand just like when americans hate other people. look at the freedoms that the citizens of this country enjoy and look how hard people fight to protect it from those meaning to take it from us. also we dont have to believe in a religion, we have that choice, in other countries they have a certain religion that they follow and its all that they know. I personally feel that if you dont like the way things are going in the United States and if all you want to do is put down your government and the people trying to protect this country the you really do need to find another country to go to ....taxes are a part of life, always have been always will be, the countries that receive help from the us may not appreciate it, but making the us a watchdog nations was a choice that our forefathers made and it also made this country one of the greatest in the world.....

Not everyone hates Americans, my friend went to Germany and when people figured out she was American they were very intrigued by her. Do you look at all Iranians the same? It's because of propaganda that people think of all countries peoples the same way. We also live in a rich country and people are jealous. I also would personally rather give my tax money to other countries than have it go to unwed single mothers that live off of welfare. If your serious about not living here, Switzerland has no taxes, free health care and are always neutral in wars, just something to think about

Honey, I think that people hate America because of the foreign policy that we have. Just think of the number of Americans who are dissatisfied with the government? People only see a small portion of what America is like. Many think that all American women look like Pamela Anderson. People only know what they are taught. Why anyone hates anyone is complicated.

The world hates americans because they don't realize the difference between red staters and blue staters. If anything, I wish that the terrorists (if they were real) knew the difference between red and blue americans so they would blow up red states instead of blue states that are not at fault for pissing off the world.
Unfortunately, that thing was rigged by our own government, who are red in the head.

I'm American and proud of it. People have nothing better to do with their meaningless days, so they concoct reasons to blame America for the world's problems.

I don't disagree with you.
The world watches how we act, and the political party in control has done about everything you can do as_ backwards! I have never seen anything like this in my entire life!!!
