they disarmed the press.
Any news that disagrees with thier world view is automatically biased.

This tatic is great for keeping destroying medias power to check and balance the government.

I could not figure out why people believed there was a mass conspiracy that all questioning is liberal bais...

I pose the question here....see if it related.

"Freedom of the press" simply means that Uncle Sam isn't pulling the strings.

Media outlets in the US are privately owned. While the majority of journalists and reporters in their employ are liberals, progressives and Democrats, the majority of owners, major shareholders and upper management are conservatives, neocons and Republicans.

Whether the news is slanted one direction or the other or is presented without political bias -- it is a result of decisions made within that business and not the result of Uncle Sam dictating to them what they will and will not report and how they will or will not present it to the public.

As long as those decisions are not made for the press by Uncle Sam, everything you see, read and hear in the media, whether slanted or not, is the result of someone within that organization exercising his/her/their right to freedom of the press.

Even the outlet that takes the most heat for being far too cozy with the current administration and being a primarily editorial outlet is what it is because *the owner* chose for it to be.

Misinformation seems to abound; the Democrats do not own the press outlets. Actually for Radio the majority of outlets are owned by Clearchannel, and the CEO of Clearchannel is a personal friend of Bush. Go figure. Also see links for further information.

We live in a Neo-Feudal world today. You might remember the theme of the original RollerBall. The corporations are in control of everything. Oh hell, you will figure it all out eventually.

No, they want you to think they don't!

Prove that 90% is run by democrats? All I get all day long is Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and some other jackass!!

I am sure Randolph Hearst was a democrat, just like Fox News and the idiot that married Fonda!! I am sure poor people own all the networks!!

As an old-fashioned conservative, I don't think anybody wants to control what the media says, but I do think people would like the media to be honest, and have some honor and integrity. Those are sadly lacking in the mainstream media.

Freedom of the press?

It is the Liberals who demand the "Fairness Doctrine" to apply to TV and radio. Your message is getting out because you have more venues to use, you just don't like dissenting voices. For over 40 years you had absolute control of the media and you dream of your monopoly.

90% of the press is run by democrats.

Leaking top secret information that jeopardizes the security of our country is not covered by the freedom of the press.
