It deends on how you mean "how many". There are ONLY THREE prime factors of 6336, namely 2, 3 and 11. However 2 divides it six times, and 3 divides it twice, so 6336 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 11, in which case you can say there are NINE prime factors. Sometimes people incorrectly speak of "factors" when they mean "divisors": for example 36 divides equally into 6336, so some people would call it a "factor" (which is not strictly true). In this case there are 38 different divisors, not counting 1 or 6336 itself.
