All professional athletes earn too much money. They have totally lost touch with the people who through their ticket purchases pay those exorbitant salaries. Too many of them feel that they are above everyone but especially above the fan of their sport. I realize that only a few athletes become professionals and they must keep themselves in very good shape but I think they could do this on, oh, a measly 1or 2 million a year.

A minimum contract for a full year can be a few hundred thousand and can range up to about $25 million/year for the best of the best. Shaq earns about $20 million/year not including endorsements.

It varies ALOT, like Kyle Korver of the 76ers makes $800 K, and Allen Iverson makes about $19 M. So it varies on how valuable to the team you are, and how popular you are (how many people come to see you at the game, fans).

All depends how popular they are... The don't make all their money by playing basketball. The ones that make the most money are in commercials, magazines, clothes.
