I think that this society has gotten too impersonal and the classic face-to-face is the best option.
I will give you two reason why a letter is NOT a good idea.
If you are telling him you like him...that letter could fall into the hands of the wrong people. My friend wrote a note to a guy and he laughed and gave it to his friend, who made sure that EVERYONE knew by eighth period.
If you are breaking up...my other friend is at camp and she decided to break up through a letter. OUCH! Poor Tom's summer is shot. He was NOT expecting a rejection to his love letter.
You will be able to tell when the moment to tell him is...seize it and go! Then what is meant to happen, will happen.

well it depend on how old are you ?! i mean you become in a certain age then sending a letter or a card to a guy to tell him for the first time that you love him become silly !! at that age you only send him a card or letter in two cases : 1. your anniversary which will be real sweet 2. you are braking up with him and its gonna hurt so very mush to look him in the eye's and say that ..
BUT however if you still young .. real young then its acceptable to do that .. its acceptable to do whatever you wont :)

it would be better to face him, but if you're over sensitive and get stuck while speaking, if you think you would express your feelings better by writing, so send him a letter. I sent my last card last year to a person who lives far from me(we live in Italy but I live in Milan and he lives in Cagliari) to tell him how i was feeling and all i'd been through in the two years we had not seen each other. He got stunned and didn't answer, but eventually he called me at the beginning of this year and now we are going to meet in september. Can't wait to see him!
Good luck!

I would not think it is wrong at all in fact I have wrote several letters to my boyfriend on how i feel about everything and it a nice way to express your self if you like me you can't tell them in person.
Don't worry about what others think it is a nice thoughtful thing you are doing and let him know how much you care.

It can be right or wrong. It can be right because by giving him a letter that tells him how you feel he knows that you took the time to sit down and write about how you feel about him. That might not be as courageous as telling him face to face, but it's a method none the less. I prefer to tell people i like them face to face so that they know that it's coming straight from the heart. Its like having a boyfriend write a song for you and leaving the tape on your doorstep (representing the note), or having him perform for you live, right in front of you (face to face). So you see, there's a silver lining in both of your choices but if you really like him, you should do what you felt was right, what's coming from your heart not mine, or anybody else's.

Not wrong at all, he will be flattered and it might open his eyes. Yes by all means send him the card or letter. Do yourself a favor and send it to him through the mail, there is something about receiving mail that makes it much more satisfing. ( My wife did this that is what got us started )

Not at all. In fact that is very sweet and very appreciated by us guys. The important thing though, is not restricting yourself to cards and letters as the only way to express your feelings. It's just as important to do things that show how you feel. Actions really do speak louder than words.

Unless you are deaf/mute and have the inability to communicate in any other way... YES. Tell him. What can you possibly say with a card that you couldn't say with your mouth. Does he intimidate you that much? If so, then you better cherish him while you got him. No man wants some little girl that is afraid to talk to him in person.

Some people express themselves better in writing. Do read it over to yourself though and make sure that you feel comfortable
with how what you wrote sounded and that it was worded just the way you wanted. If you are not sure they have feelings back, do not write anything so forward that you come across as just that.
