Explain the "plan", and you have the answer. No intelligent being, given free will, would succumb to servitude, which is what the Christian "God" expects of all of it's followers. Lucifer, in the legend, ws indeed the smartest of all the angels. His actions were logical, if believed.
Being an Atheist, I do not believe. However, it is a facinating tale.
"Paradise Lost" is the tale that most Christians get the whole "jealousy of Jesus" concept from. It seems to get confused with Biblical teachings.

People have Lucifer confused with Satan they are not the same. satan was created to be a liar fraom the begining. For a good explanation of this (better than I could do) find pathfiner or godfire.net and go to elwin's directory it's under "the Lucifer question"
I wondered this too for a long time I couldn't understand how poor old all knowing God didn't know there was an uprising against him. It is some interesting reading weather you believe it or not. Let me know if you can't find it. qhuggins2002@yahoo.com

Dear Romania, The Bible tells us that Lucifer's problem was that he did not want to be a creature, but the creator. He did not want to be under authority. He wanted to have authority. He said, "I will be like the most high." I think it is strange, too, that seeing God face to face, knowing God's majesty, knowing the beauty with which he himself had been made, he should desire to act against God. I suppose the primary sin here was pride.
Mankind, too, has rebelled against God's holy plan. As men, we have the hope of redemption. Lucifer/Satan sinned with full knowledge and has none. I think the best we can gain from thinking about this is to turn to God ourselves and keep watch over our hearts against sin.

Greed and envy.
But since God is all knowing and has a master plan and knows everything that is going to happen, then do you think that he knew it was coming and planned for it? It had to be part of God's plan, right?

Better a master in Hell, than a slave in paradise....don't you think?
Freedom beats servitude, even in Heaven.
