In a way I suppose it's both particularly in the last two or three years. The concept of the show is entertaining and I remember watching the first two or three years thinking that it was wonderful entertainment. Then on series 4 it was really boring and it flopped because there was really no interesting personalities on it so I think after that they just decided to throw any available nut job on it and see what happens. I mean in the last few seasons nearly every person on it has been controversial in some way and it's just overkill now at this stage so it is bordering on manipulating those who are desperate for fame

I think the housemates are quite manipulative as well, they're not little innocents who unwittingly get forced into the BB house are they? Nikki is the worst culprit, with her toddler tantrums. Imogen is sly, sits there nodding and pretending to be everyones friend but can't wait to spread gossip and watch her face whenever there's bother, she laps it up, from a distance. I was a big Aisleyne fan until last night. I just think she knew what was expected, she was told she would be evicting four of the five housemates, and she shouldn't have tried to get one over on BB by thinking she knew what they had planned. Her crying was over the top and deprived Spiral of a good welcome into the main house because he had had to comfort her and the attention was diverted from his entrance into the house onto her, which I suspect she knew would be the case.
No-one goes onto BB anymore without knowing what to expect, they're all exhibitionists looking for their 15 minutes of fame. If Aisleyne had been sincere last night then why didn't she point blank refuse to do it? or give up her own place to save her friends? They might have evicted her, I suspect they wouldn't have, and she would always have been remembered as the housemate who put her friendships above anything else. I've yet to see one housemate ever who has done anything like that, other than Helen who loved shoes, and yet on her birthday turned down the shoes BB offered her to make sure there was a party for them all. Maybe not the biggest gesture in the world, but for her, I think it was major somehow.

They don`t seem to have picked the most stable bunch of people. It could leave them with pschycological problems afterwards. I think if they are going to get big personalities in a house together they should make sure they have no problems first. Lea Nicki Pete are all on a tightrope. If Glyn was my son I would not have wanted him in there with this bunch it could tar him for life. I don`t see the point of Suzy not sure about the new lot. Ashleyne could be scarred after her experience in the new house and bonding with new people then haveing to evict them. At the same time I do watch it so it must be entertainment but I think the watchdogs should monitor it to check on their healthcare.

It's both.

It's a way to bully and manipulate people who are desperate for fame and mentally unstable for the entertainment of others.

It's also a way for Channel 4, Carphone Warehouse and Endemol to make shedloads of money.

Defiantly both, everyone is intrigued about other people's lives. Its like knowing what goes on behind closed door etc. how they live with each other in a enclosed space, their reactions, strops and arguments

i think if you go on that programme you have to be prepared for people to bully and manipulate you, i dont thin badly for them because they know what they are letting themselves in for, and it is entertainment cos most of us like to watch that as long as it doesnt happen to us
