Pointe shoes run from about $30 to $70, depending on where you get them. The on-line suppliers might be cheaper, but you still need to factor in shipping costs. And if you need to try a new style, you should always get fitted in person. Many dancewear stores will charge you a fitting fee if you don't buy the shoes from them.

People are going to tell you their favorite brands, but it really depends on what brand and style works best with you. My daughter was lucky that Sansha shoes (the cheapest brand) worked for her for many years. Not only were they cheaper, but they lasted a long time, too. However, she then had to start using different brands as her feet and circumstances changed.

Just go to a reputable dancewear store and get fitted by their specialist and simply try a wide range of brands and styles 'til you find one you think feels right. Pointe shoes only feel "right" for a limited amount of time - sometimes near the beginning or midway in their use. In the latter stage, you'll realize it's time for another pair of pointe shoes. These stages can last hours, days, weeks and months, depending how many hours per week you're in them. (Fortunately, it's only professional ballet dancers who go through a pair of pointe shoes for each performance.) At some point in your training, you'll realize you'll need several pairs of pointe shoes in rotation.

So as you can see, durability of pointe shoes can be just as important as price. If a more expensive brand lasts longer for you, it can be less expensive that a cheaper brand that only lasts a week. But this is based on what your feet do to the shoes, not necessarily the workmanship of the brand. And many dancers actually prefer shoes that break in very easily.

Given the individual nature of pointe shoe preferences, please take any flat-out recommendations as you would recommendations for ice cream flavors. :-)

Usually starting at $60. You will need to go to a store with an experienced person who can fit pointe shoes. The brand doesn't matter, but the fit and the way your feet are when up on the toes does matter.

A good fitting should take at least 30-60 minutes if not longer.

Never mail order pointe shoes!

Generally between $40 and $60, You can try looking online at zappos.com Sometimes they have Bloc for under $40.

Brands depend on what you're looking for in a shoe. Capezio shoes offer a variety of box shapes and shank strengths that lend more or less support depending on your ability level.

This is really something that you should be discussing with your instructor though. They know your ability level and the demands of the class and will best be able to direct you towards suitable footwear.

Point shoes normally cost anywhere from about $70 on. The prices will vary depending on which brand you buy. As for the best brand, i think it all depends on your foot type. Different brands are better for different people.

There are many good shoes out there today. About $70.00 on the average in the US. Just be sure not to buy one that is for performance if they are going to be used in class regularly.

The fit is important and various brands should be fitted to the dancer before choosing. They should not be too roomy, nor so tight that the toes are squished inside. Most Bloch shoes are good for many types of foot and are fairly long lasting.

If you get them from a dance shop they can cost upwards of $60. The best brands are Freed (which I love), Capezio, Bloch, and some people prefer Gaynor Minden.

I recommend you get fitted for your first pair so they fit. But after you can buy them online much cheaper at www.discountdance.com

Capezio is the best in my opinion. There's a website www.capeziovr.com that has many styles for beginners to advanced. These shoes run from $40-$60 depending on your experience.
The elastic, the ribbon, lambs wool are not included and must be bought seperately.
You have to sew these on yourselves.
