which type of tuna is it? There are many types of tuna, and they are all prepare in a slightly different way. I never recomment people to make sushi on their own...it can be dangerous..food poison...fish bones....etc. make sure you store the tuna at the right tempature after you cut out the blood, bones, fins and don't wash the fish. make sure to check the flesh of the tuna for any small holes or bloody soft spots..it mean worms and sickness. You would need to buy a bunch of things to make the sushi rice...rice vinegar, sweet vinegar and seasoning. Seaweed, sesame, pickle ginger, wasabi, soy sauce...rolling mat for making rolls and make sure you wrap the bamboo mat with plastic wrap. a very very sharp knife. I think you are better off just making some "japanese style seared tuna" "tuna tataki".

You would need to buy japanese brand rice, most brand would do...make sure not any other kind of rice because you need "sticky" rice. Put rice vinegar, mirin ( not to much)...usually put in some "special seasoning", can be found in Asian supermarkets...then stir (lightly ) the rice for a minute. Sushi rice should be warm...to keep the rice moist.

Ongo a hawaiian sea weed or finely slice dulce
a teaspoon of asian hot sauce
and a teaspoon of sesame seed oil

Slice the tuna thin and lay on top of rice. This is the easiest way to serve.

Alton brown just did an entire show on Sushi and Sashimi. YOu might want to check www.foodnetwork.com and see what you can find there.
