I am from Charlotte, NC and yes, you are right!
The individuals that deliberatly start these brawls are certainly making a negative impact on how society as a whole accepts them...or NOT...
And in my experience, will then be the first to call you a rascist for pointing out that they are mostly or all of the same race, and despite the fact that they do these acts together as a GROUP, want to know we say it has ANYTHING to do with the color of their skin!
I have, as a native to the area, personally experienced alot of the hate and acts of hate explode since early 1970's,! My family were targets of abuse from, yes, mostly black men...
I hate to think that I would not meet and judge someone as a descent person regardless of the color of their skin, but due to all of the murder, rape and robbery commited in my area by predominantly black men, How can I feel safe even coming into contact with a black man?
I wish it were NOT so, and I try my best to assess the character of an individual based on his morality or kindness, but it is hard to do so when the majority of serious crimes are commited by a high percent of people of a particular race.
I have had several black friends in my 37 years, most of which I found to be wonderful people, and just as coincidental...I have have had many white friends who are wonderful people...and then many of both colors that were NOT worth knowing....
I believe that ANYONE can be a bad person, regardless of the color of thier skin....but I would sure like to know why when it comes to violent crime, it is a much higher percent of blacks with mexican following shortly behind, than any other race.
In about 1996 our violent crime rate for Charlotte was over 90% commited by blacks...and over 87% of that was men, the rest women.
NOT being a rascist, here, just presenting the facts....
A good question to ask society as a whole would be......
What are the differences in how we are raised, what mentalities are bred into us from birth, how do they affect our youth, and what may we do differently to help our children learn to be better citizens, neighbors and friends and not turn into delinquents?
EDITED * and as for the person above who called the asker a *****....and asked if she'd lived down slavery yet.....
You exude the same mentality that alot of the people who commit these crimes exude...and, I don't recall ANYONE who still lives and breathes as being enslaved, unless you've been reincarnated...why is it that MOST black people don't mind throwing slavery in the face of a white person, when we have'nt lived long enough to have been invovled in it? Maybe, just maybe, you have answered the last question in my post above......hhhmmmm?
Grow up, you're only a SLAVE to your own narrow mentality.

I am not black, but sometimes I wonder the same thing. I AM NOT racist by any means, however, I do live in Memphis, TN, which is full of crime. It feels like in the past two weeks, every time I turn on the news, someone else has been shot and killed in predominantly black neighborhoods, and the victims are often children hit by stray bullets, that were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Like during the '60's I think it was a black neighborhood in the Los Angeles area, something happened that made them upset, and they rioted in their own neighborhood. They burned down their homes and all. A white trucker didn't know what was going on while he was driving through, and they dragged him out of the truck and beat him to death, presumably because he was white.

It is disgusting anytime there is a riot, but the media portrays riots amongst blacks in a different light than with other groups. I live in an area where anytime a certain college has a big game the students pour out into the street and damage property and behave in much the same manner as was shown with the 4th of July riots, but (being predominately white) they were term "over joyous" and as "celebrating". There have been sporting events where crowds have flooded the arenas, but still they are not portrayed in the same manner as blacks are. And they are not accused of making negative statements about their ethnicity. Tell me if that is not a twist on the same subject.

The riots that broke out probably broke out in a predominantly black or Hispanic neighborhood, and consisted of people who live in that area, and reflects in no great way to their race. Some rioting blacks and some rioting Hispanics should in no way indicate that all or even most ethnic groups speak for the majority.

I don't know what is wrong with crazy people, but to say that the majority of young black men want to start trouble is just wrong. You can't pigeonhole an entire country based on some footage of a riot. The majority of young black males in that community maybe, but not the whole nation.

Wow, you are touching a sensitive race issue. Maybe it is "racial profiling?" I've seen a stat that about 15% of the population is black. Yet the prison population is substantially more black (maybe 30%). Is this because of racial profiling or did racial profiling evolve due to this? As with any "minority" group, when they stop becoming the "victim" of society and start becoming survivors and accepting personal responsibility, that group will always be the highlight of society and the symptom of our "problems." I've personally know people of many races and groups. Those who don't outright blame (insert group....the man, whites, republicans, bush, etc) for their lives have made their own way through life...working hard, obtaining an education, working even harder. Whenever I come across a person who starts to blame someone, I'm prone to throw him/her into the typical stereotype that he/she belongs. When he/she doesn't place blame, I make my assessment on a person based on his/her own individual character, ethics, accomplishments.

How is your country treating young black persons? Here in Africa where there are 500,000,000 black persons, that sort of thing does not happen. Most of Africa other than Somalia and South Africa and Dafur are peaceful and in in most troubled areas, there is always outside influence (diamond, oil or political ideological wars).
Maybe second some black youths for community work to counties like Mozambique, Malawi, Botswana or Namibia. They would definitely learn some positivity.

I am glad that you asked that question, because I am one of the few people that knows exactly what the answer is.
It is because of particular genes that are much more common in black people, followed by a large margin by hispanic people, in turn followed by a large margin by european (aka white) people. The genes are those that regulate the amount of testosterone, dihydrotestosterone (which is made from testosterone), and dihydrotestosterone receptors in the brain which induce the production of certain neurotransmitter receptors in response to dihydrotestosterone. Said neurotransmitter receptors are 5-HT2 serotonin receptors that cause aggressive thought and behavior. Included within aggressive thought is the behavior of blaming everyone else for one's aggression, such as by attributing one's aggression to racism from the distant past (slavery), or to non-existent popular racist practices.
The solution, likewise, is in the genes. Identify all of the aggressive black people, as well as aggressive people from any race for that matter, and sterilize them. If they have already produced offspring, then sterilize the offspring. Preferably we would just execute all of the bad people and their children, but that is much more politically incorrect than sterilization.

I know you know better than to take a group of black kids who are acting out and paste the entire black youth as being that way.
If you saw a news clip of black youths picking up trash in a community, would you think, "Oh....all black youths are like this"?
Probably not.
Why would you focus on the negative only?

I think it's just a real sign of how little hope they actually have for improving their situation.
On a side note, this is a good question that is NOT racist, like many other questions on this site. Nice job.
The idiots who automatically took it that way need to start reading things more carefully, even if you may have overgeneralized it somewhat.
