I just picked up the original Trainspotting book by Irvine Welsh. and it is kind of hard to understand. I can read it but get confused some times. Is the screenplay book by John Hodge easier to read. And is it the exact same story as the one by Irvine?

The screenplay is exactly that - the script for the movie. So of course it is different from the original novel Trainspotting. I know the dialect is hard to understand, but as you go along it becomes easier. It's worth it.

But if you can't get through Trainspotting, do yourself a favor and never pick up A Clockwork Orange.
