Here's my dilema, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. My oldest daughter is eight. However were all very tall and she is currently wearing 12's. I get so frustrated when I shop with her because its so hard to find clothing that does not make her look like a little street walker. These designers must not have daughters! What do you think?

Well I don't have kids, but I do remember having to go and shop for clothes before school (every child and parents nightmare),
I think it relates toward the t.v. and media scene. All children watch television and want to look like the next big star. Like your Hilary Duff's, well that is the only one I can think of that younger kids watch. My pet-peeve is the stores know half the stuff is banded from the elementary, and middle schools (some stuff is acceptable in High School). If the stores know this, then why do they supply their shelves full of trashy clothes. Might as well walk around naked, cuz now days there is nothing left for the imagination!

Oh you are so right. Try shopping at Land's End internet or catalog. I know it can be a hassle but there are some decent things for children even in sizes 12 and 14. It is a challenge to find modest clothes for girls and young ladies. However, it is possible. Good luck!

Looking at the "Big Picture", it’s called cultural degeneration. The basic reasons are pretty simple, same as, why are illegal street drugs a multi-billion dollar industry? (Hint, no buyers, no market). Unfortunately for those who grew up in a different era, there isn't much one can do about either, except recognize the fact. When both parents have to work and are not present to "rear" children, it’s a wonder that things aren't a lot worst. Is there any hope for our way of life? History teaches us that when a certain point is reached; society self-destructs, is reborn, and regenerates itself.

I think that many teens are sent to the mall with money and they buy whatever they want regardless of how trashy it makes them look. No wonder these girls end up raped, missing, are sexually active at such a young age. Keep taking your daughter and buy the clothes for her. Buy a bigger size and have them altered. I'm glad I have a son. : )

I think you're so very right! What is wrong with these people? I think you'll probably have to go to a mall, and search in the upscale stores in order to find something decent, because it seems that all of the affordable clothing is being made for street walkers.

Sad answer is because it sells and stores must sell to survive. I think if more parents refused these clothes for kids, or disposed of them when kids bought them, then stores would not have so many. It's hard out there finding decent clothes for kids and I am surprised no store yet has capitalized on it

Well i think you people should stop complaining. If you dont want your children to wear it then dont buy it, simple as that. Find other stores to shop in. Some people, however, like the clothes that are on the market. What you think is simply an opinion. Opinions are like butts, everyone has one & they all stink!

merely because a baby outfits like that doesn't advise it really is the mum's fault. i understand for a actuality from my journey at the same time as i replaced into an adolescent, i'd placed on what I deliberate on wearing less than my outfits that were perfect and take them off after I were given to the position i replaced into going. OR I flat out informed my mom no, i am going to placed on what i decide on. i do not see how responsible this on a mom at the same time as toddlers/childrens do what they pick besides. because you're literally not a mom, you does not understand what it really is pick to have a baby who does issues in the back of your lower back. And to make a fact like: "Does she not problem about her daughter's protection?" and "merely because you gave delivery, does not advise you're a mom," over a outfits situation is thoroughly ruthless.

If people buy it ,Stores will sell it . It's that simple . Supply and demand . If you don't like the things they offer you might try shopping on line or catalog . Some times they offer the best choices .

I think designers sell what people will buy. Oh, sure, there's plenty of folks who would prefer that fashions be a little less mature for girls that age - I happen to agree - but when it comes down to it, they sell the fad of the day.

Teach your kid to sew.
