I need help.

I 'm sure my girlfriend loves me, but she is very attracted to Indian men (She even has these posters of two Indian actors named Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt) I think one day she will leave me for an Indian man (probably the stereotype genius computer engineer). I know it's going to be a problem because I can't even get her to talk about it. I don't know if it is just a fetish or something truely meaningful about Indian men that she likes..

It makes me think that I lack something that she wants.

I address this question to Indian men:

What is the sexual essence of being an Indian man?

Are you guys "smooth" are you guy "dangerous" like that guy Sanjay Dutt in the movie Kalnayak (which my girlfriend made me watch with her).

Are Indian men romantic like Italian men?

If its just dark skin that my girl likes then I quess I can live with that (I just have to work on my tan).

Thank you so much in advance for the advice and help.

I'm an Indian guy.

I personally don't have crushes on movie stars, but I think it's pretty common. Don't read too much into the posters.

I don't know what you mean by "sexual essence", but my sister tells me Indian guys have in general become more obnoxious with their flirting in the past few years (I'm referring to Indians living in India). Many Indian youngsters follow the example set for them in the movies, so if you watch Indian movies you'll get a reasonably good idea of what a young Indian guy living in India is like. As for smooth or dangerous, it really depends on the guy and how he was brought up. Yes, Indian men can be pretty romantic, they also tend to be more attached to their gf than people in some other parts of the world, although this appears to be changing for the worse.

But, in the end, whatever issues you have, you need to be able to talk to your gf about them. If she doesn't care how you feel about something like this, maybe she isn't the one for you.

Me is Indian Guy. I guess its more like a crush. My girlfriend is also Indian and she had a crush on a Indian sportsman - Ajay Jadeja. She used to tell me he is a born charmer, romantic with a bad boy attitude. I used to get red with jealousy everytime she sung praises about him. Her reaction was the same when I revealed my crush for Indian actress - Urmila Mathondkar. But we still know we love each other and true love conquers fleeting feelings of crushes.
Indian men are obviously romantic but Indian romance (do not picture Bollywood movies - no singing and dancing in real life) is more old fashioned. Usually Indian men and women work hard to make love work and get married. Indian people at the worst case have 2 partners in their lifetime that too because of unfortunate circumstances. Most of us have just one. They usually dont desert their loved ones for someone who is rich/better looking/charming etc. But as someone mentioned here this is changing (damn the western influence).
You should talk to your gf about she having posters of Indian actors (My girlfriend would go hammer and tongs if I had posters of Urmila) and let her know that maybe you are becoming a little jealous because of that and you truly love her. Who knows she maybe trying to get your attention by causing jealousy. Hope it helps. Peace.

Dude, you need to get a life and make sure to love your woman enough that no one will 'take her away'. You sound very insecure to me and that's not good for a woman. You should talk with her about the "indian" thing....find out what it is; don't try to imitate it. It's fantasy. Be happy she even told you and go about your business or you will come home one day and she'll be introducing you to her new Indian boyfriend. Lighten up.

First dont be so intimidated.. i get weak in the knees for latin men.. my husband couldnt be more white lol.. but although i find them attractive, i wouldnt trade my husband in for the world. Theres alot of places in life that people think is just beautiful.. mountains, beach front, desert maybe, but they wouldnt actually want to live there.. same thing, u can be attracted to something but not necessarily want it.. Stop wasting so much time on who your not, and concentrate more on who u are, she's obviously with you for a reason , and if she's that shallow to only see people for looks then she's going to have a rude awakening someday, but she's with u, so she must thinking ur something special :)

You mentioned that she won't discuss her fantasy about the other men, then it's time to let her know where trust stands in a relationship. You need to ask her if she's keeping you around for connivance, until she finds that Indian, because you'd rather she stop rubbing your nose in her fantasies. She's with you now and you would appreciate her respecting that.

if she loves you what are you worried about? just because you are in a relationship it doesn't mean that you are suddenly blind..i'm sure you see attractive women here and there too..as long as you two are in love and commited to each other don't let a little thing like finding other people attractive cause problems..but I wouldn't take it as far as having posters up..try putting up some posters of your own and see how she feels about that.

I guess you should talk this over with your girl. Only she knows specifically, what she finds attractive in an Indian guy.

I think that you should trust in the love that you and your girlfriend share. Obsticals can make a relationship stronger if you build around them. Be the best man you can.. that is all you can do... if she really cares for you she won't leave!
