Where do we (human beings) originate from?
Are we a product of evolution - if so, are we still evolving?

We are a product of simian and proto-simian dna. To say we aren't still evolving is to believe we are somehow "complete" or "perfect". Do you see anything complete or perfect in anything mankind has done so far? My bet is that we have a LONG way to go.

To think we are done evolving is to think we are somehow the "reason" for evolution. I'm not that egotistical or self-agrandizing. Especially when humans with guns are little more than chimps with feces.

Maybe we'll evolve to a point where we can leave the violent and willfully ignorant here to finish destroying everything in the chimpanzee fashion and we can travel someplace better to continue the adventure. :)

Just remember that evolution doesn't mean better=complex. It's not a moral question. It just means selection through adaptation. Since much of humanity doesn't seem to know how to adapt to change it's a pretty safe bet that they aren't "better" for it. It's looking more and more like humanity is going to be selected "out" of the experiment as "non-viable". IMHO of course.

Our blueprint is the likeness of a far more advanced being or beings. Actual origin unknown.

No we are NOT a product of evolution if that were the case there would still be other less "human" beings here on this planet with us now. That process is not something which starts then automatically stops at any given point, its continual.

We are not "evolving", we are learning, growing, adapting which is VERY different!!!

Yes we are a product of evolution. Yes we are still evolving. The reason you don't see any new humans walking around is that our time window is so short. Evolution happens over long periods of time and it happens on the fringes. We have eliminated most of the fringes and most of the need for adaptation. We wont see significant change in humans until there is some cataclysmic change that isolates us in smaller groups and forces adaptation. That should happen fairly soon on a geologic scale.

Though we are a product of evolution only some of us seem to be moving forward. The ones who want the world to be a better place and care about the environment and other people regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.
