no way i was beaten to the core by my parents

My parents only beat me every other week (usually-there were some exceptions [see below]), and it was on schedule. For example, when I behaved and got good grades I was beaten only every other Wednesday at 7:30 pm. However, when I misbehaved or got below a 90 on a test, I was beaten that night. Once, I told my teacher (in 3rd grade) that my parents would beat me. She called my home and the next week I was in a different school.

very. i got everything when i was a kid. but then i had to go do something stupid to have my dad cut me off. i still got my beemer, but he doesn't give me as much money as he used to when i was in high school, i think i get 20 or 30% of what i used to get. my boyfriend spoils me now though. i get "allowance" from him every week. 400-500 a week for being a good girl is not too shabby. and no I'm not a hooker, but a gold digger in training..lol

Yes and no. My parents bought me my first car (used Sentra), but that was in place of driving me 10 miles to high school each day. My parents paid for my 4-year degree, but I paid for graduate school.
No, I never had lots of toys. I did not get a new car like most of my high school friends. I always studied hard and got good grades, unlike most of my high school friends.

No, I wasn't spoiled as a child. That would be my little brother,"Sugar Boy". He is the baby of three(2 girls & Sugar Boy!)
But we're fine now!! No mental scars or anything!!HEEHEE!!

Yes...my dad's family still believes that is how you show love...through buying someone off. I see now as an adult how
much i took for granted and I really feel bad..
and I'm glad I see the light and do not need to live that way anymore.

Nope. When I was a kid, I guess I was pretty bad. Use to have to go and cut my own willow switch for my licking'. I had a extremely strict father.

as far as material things are concerned ..no. but as far as love and security is concerned....yes absolutely!
