review and reread your texts, study/review your notes from each class every night if possible, keep an accurate assignment notebook, get your homework in on time, do your best on each assignment, give an honest effort, and ask for help/attend review classes offered by your teacher...it takes a few weeks to get into the rhythm of this, but it gets progressively easier and easier to maintain your level of study...most kids can't equate their study habits with money, so here's an example from real life: kid who studies well and tries their best receives $25,000 per year in college scholarships, multiply that by four years and you have $100,000 in scholarships, that is money you don't have to pay back, and money you would have had to take loans out for and pay back, well into your adult life. Can you think of things you would rather do with $100,000 than pay back loans? I'll bet you can.

study the most important thing.
The second thing approach a question with common sense, underline key words. That helps me a lot.
If you can't think of an answer, use common sense to think about the question; imagine what't gonna happen if this is done and if that is done. And what would change when that happens, and so on...
Third : practice
Hope i was able to help;)

Try to always do your homework the day you get it so it is fresh in your mind. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. I do my math homework with my mom because I'm very bad at it and she helps me. I copy my vocab lists over and over until I understand the words and I study the lists also, just reading the words and definitions. Thats kinda what I do.

stay after school if you don't understand the lesson of the day, teachers usually are willing to help, then read over what you learned that day until you really understand it
