I have information that could help my sister's divorce case, though telling her the information could make her dislike me and never trust me again. (I didn't do anything illegal or unethical). She will do fine without this information and it may just put salt into the wound, but I am having such an inner battle about it. What should I do??

I hear what your saying, I keep it to myself for family sake, if it was a piece of info that would make or break her case I'd say tell her, but hold off for now...you might want to discuss this with an other reliable family member just for a final 2nd opinion but for now don't put salt into the wound...good luck.

Yes tell her! She has a right to know especially if he is a full time drunk! (Why would she be mad at you! B/c you drank with him without her knowing, why would she not trust you b/c you bought it for him! or went to the bar with him!) you could probably leave some details out to save the realtionship between you and her and take the change that he might fill in the blanks that you did leave out and maybe even add to the details- she really needs you and your support right now - Even if you tell her it isn't going to make much difference if it's over it's over and the courts don't care if he drinks or not most of the people working there drink probably more then he does. LOL

If you think it will help her more than hurt, then tell her. You may want to preface it with what you just said (that you didn't do anything illegal or unethical to get this information) and that you're not trying to hurt her or make her mad at you.

If you love your sister and want her to feel the same about you, keep your mouth shut. Sounds like you WANT to hurt her. That would be so nice of you in light of the fact that she's already hurting enough from the divorce. Would hate to have you for a sister. So...you screwed her husband, didn't you? MYOB!

If you are having inner feelings then that should answer your question. Would you like for your sister to keep something important from you? Tell her you will be happier in the long run!
