Your question is UNCLEAR. Carbon buildup is not a legit issue. Newer "hydrocarbon" cleaning programs are more aimed at the car owner, than the car. Some claims of lower gas milage and higher horsepower, are, just that- claims.
Buildup of carbon on pistons, rings, and walls is normal- Oil is designed to flow over those surfaces and protect. Change your oil @ 3000 on a 4 cyl ----4000 miles on 6cyl----- and 5000 on a v-8
