Affirmative action has been a MISERABLE failure. It's IMPOSSIBLE to end discrimination by committing more discrimination.

People should be judged by their character, not by their race or color.

It's a total failure. Not to mention, reverse discrimination practiced by those who think they deserve special treatment. The worst of it is that they use the guise of "equality" which is a total farce. Take college admissions: If you really wanted equality you would fill out your applications with a number, not a name, so that the first line wouldn't read "Jolanda White" or "Roberto Luis Alfredo Garza" or something. Secondly, there would BE NO race question. And, lastly, there would be no acceptance of EC activities like "Filipino American Club". So then, all that would stand out are grades, sports, and civic participation or essays.

That's how you would truly get into college fairly. Your letter would say,

"Congratulations applicant number 24853-32. You have been accepted to UCLA based on you sterling record."

It would not say,

"Congratulations Malcolm Jackson. You normally would not meet the minimum standards of our school, but since you're black we are willing to make an exception for you to meet our diversity quota. See you in the fall."

Affirmative action has adversely affected the quality of services that our government provides for us. It has caused the govenment to select contractors based on factors other than quality of service and we are suffering for that now.

All that I know, is that when I graduated from college the 1st time in 77... I could Not get a job in my field of endever... All because I was not a black, or a black woman.. or a woman....

I took several tests for positions.. passed them,, went on interviews,, and was passed over simply for that reason.... I was told that by the people that interviewed me... One guy even quit his job because of it....

Forced... well sure, but unwritten.... Worked anywhere??? Who knows,, I dont think it has been tried anywhere before....

No,
You have a group of people excluded from competition in Education and commerce.

there was 300 years of institunal barriers, even after the 64 act you figure one generation every 30 years....

so to believe that hundreds of years of institutional exclusion was solved by one act is wrong.....in one generation is wrong.

to say the act has been weakened evey step of the way is correct.

the choice was and is between nothing and taking action.

and to answer the second part yes.

its been a disaster. reverse bigotry in action that tells one group that you're too stupid and hopeless to ever make it on your own so we'll make sure that somebody has to hire you. now every poor black that does make something of himself is suspected of only having the job because of AA and not because he can really do it. another of a long list of societal blunders from the libs.
