In the UK there is no repo-man.
Court is your only option as it is a contract between citizens.
You sold the car. Period. You can only claim your money.

You will have to go to the Small Claims Court, costs are on a sliding scale depending on the amount you are claiming. Make sure you keep every bit of evidence. It's a bit of a long winded process & still doesn't guarentee you'll get your money. You'll probably get the case awarded to you but it's still hard to get the money from the other person.

I'm going to assume that your from europe, I don't know what your laws are there, but here in the us, you'd probably have to go to court. I would look into the laws for your area to be sure. You could also try contacting your local police department, in fact thats probably where i'd start. Even if it is legal to do it on your own, its not a good idea.

You can go to your local County Court and ask for a small claims application which you will have to file against him. It does mean going to court but you will probably be able to do it yourself without having to get a solicitor. The court staff will advise you.

You will need to go to a Small Claims Court. It shouldn't be too expensive. Contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau for details.

Your best bet is to consult an attorney and your local police department. This way it can't backfire on you as car theft. (People do wacky things!) Do you have copies of the payments and the contract? That'll help your case even more.
Good luck!

If i were you I'd go to either the Police or the Citizens Advice Bureau. You don't want to end up doing something that will end up with you being the one in trouble. Good luck

unless the contract you made with your friend says you can take the car for non-payment, you will have to take him to court.
