1. Parental drug abuse affect on children
Parents who are high or absent are not the best for their children. Children need responsible parents who can watch out for them and provide all the things parents are supposed to provide. Drug abusers are unable to be responsible parents.

2. Drug abuse affect on spouse & relationship
Drug abuse means the abuser is not responsible. They are high when they are supposed to be working, taking care of kids, cleaning house, mowing the grass and being supportive of their spouse. Drug abusers often have bad judgement (like getting AIDS from unclean needles) and getting arrested. They are not very helpful and supportive partners.

3. Drub abuse affect on family income
drug users might go to prison leaving family with no income
drug abuseres have trouble keeping a job (cuz they don't go to work or don't do a good job or can't get one because of drug testing) and their family has no money to buy food, pay rent etc.

Start out by thinking of your three main points. When organizing, try the following general outline:

I. Introduction - Briefly introduce your topic and include your thesis statement. People will be able to more easily follow along if they know what you're trying to get at.

II. Support #1
a. Describe your first major point. Briefly give a topic sentence that lets the audience know where you're going, but don't give too much information, yet.
b. Then continue on by giving thorough information (photos are good, too... they add on a few seconds to your speech by allowing you to refer to them, point, etc. Diagrams are great!!)
c. Tie it back to your thesis, and really drive home your point.

III. Repeat Part II for each of your major points.

IV. Wrap up your speech. This is where you really want to make an impression and bring together everything you said. (The last things you say are what everyone will remember!)

And come up with real-life examples, but if it is not a part of a published document or study, be careful that you have permission to discuss it!

Good luck! I know it's not a specific outline to your topic, but I hope this helps!

It depends on what way you are going with the speech.

You can break it into Short term effects, long term effects, and then a third?

You can discuss the effects on children at the different ages of development: as a child, as a teen, and then the long term effects they deal with as an adult.

You can discuss how drug abuse effects the adults in the family, the children, and then the extended family, or the friends/others... such as the effect on a child at school.

You can discuss different elements: How drug abuse effects trust in a family, communication in a family, etc.

Is the speech supposed to be pro or con?

Drugs (if you are the taker) can certainly make family members seem more attractive.

Drugs make you mellow so you can be much more personable.

Drugs take the pressure off of you so you can focus on what you want to, and consequently make you more productive. This should certainly have a positive impact on the family.

I hope this has been helpful. :)
