I know we're not perfect but how can you control what you say or how you act? I see so many women who never say the wrong thing and wonder how they can act so perfect all the time?

Well first of all what you see and what they say behind closed doors are two different things. I know that from experience. I am 26 and it has been a long hard road of learning. But I have learned to really control myself and react differently than what I am wanting to act most of the time. I have learned things go better that way. But that doesn't mean that I do not still have those feelings and emotions. I am still human after all and I am not perfect. Often I will go home and vent or holler about the situation that took place. The people around me who love and support me know how to help me calm down and put the situation into prospective...especially in cases where I am mad. It does better then just causing a scene out in public.
If it is a loved one that gets me going out in public...then I deal with that at home too. There is no reason to embarrass myself or them while we are out.
Plus you just never know what the other person is about and better safe than sorry.
And I do not want to teach my children to be big mouthed brats. They can say what they need to in a proper civilized way. That gets the point across better anyway.

I hope you find an answer to your question, because I wonder the same thing. I often find myself in compromising social situations gritting my teeth through my smile because I want to punch someone in the face. As cliched as it sounds, I always try to count in my head until the uncomfortable moment passes and my urge to say something really inappropriate is shot out of my mind. Good luck and BEHAVE. ; )

Oh, honey it's only an illusion. I can be so sweet and nice to rude people all day long and then come home and have a knock-down drag out arguement with my husband, complete with name-calling. You're right- nobody is perfect, we just all pretend to be.

To borrow from Abraham Lincoln:

You can remain composed to some people all of the time.
You can remain composed to all people some of the time.
But...
You cannot remain composed to all the people all the time.

Practice! I can do it because I am usually in the presence of my children or husband. When it is just me, I do slip up from time to time! lol
