He's going to be 16 & loves sports. We've been dating for quite a while and I'm out of ideas! Thanks for any help.

ok seriously half of these people must not have seen the "he's going to be 16" part. i know what you mean, boys are so hard to buy for. maybe, if you want, you could just tell him that you are going to take him out and he gets to choose where(like for dinner). maybe before that you could take him out to a mall and ask him to pick out one thing as a gift, that way you know he'll like it for sure. then after dinner you guys can go to what ever movie he wants. maybe if it goes well, that can just become a little tradition that you two do for birthdays and such. hope that helps.

If he loves the FIFA games and is happy about France winning, then get him a whole set of things and movies and video games that relate to that. Get him a soccer t-shirt.
I really have no more ideas because I really don't know what boys want (in terms of b-day presents) and the FIFA soccer games are the real male attention right now for sports so I'll go with that.

Go to the nearest sports store and get something that he loves with his fav team on it, like if he likes hats or collectables get it. Spend about 50 dollars on small doodads on his fav team. He will love it.

Get him a MP3 Player or just a tshirt of his favorite sports team.
