The arms race wasn't a lack of morals. It was just a big hoopla on who could show off what they had faster...and a lack of morals isn't our problem, unless, of course, you consider a lack of morals invading another country because a tyrant is in power and taking over the country without being asked AND without support from the UN...hm. Does that sound familiar? So, the answer to your question is false.

The only way the US would be in trouble that way would be if the majority of people just totally gave up on the governement, which I believe will never happen. There are many good, moral people here. And they believe the only way to keep our country strong is to keep up their faith in themselves, which in fact, is the government, whether you think so or not. The House of Representatives are the real watchdogs over the government. The Senators are too tied up in pleasing themselves and the lobbyists. The Supreme Court is questionable. And the USSR morals became very dicey when it was seen to be as corrupt as a Mafia ring

False, we will implode because we are spending money faster then the mint can make it. Bush has brought this country to record debt. Morals has very little to do with the fall of an empire. Rather, trying to legislate that morality is what brings them down..

IF, this happens. I would say it be from an Economical point of view, with companies cutting back and moving overseas. Competition with other Countries in Free Trade. Not sure the Morals have much affect, but, could I guess.

False, and further more the USSR did not implode from lack of morals. They broke up because they went broke.

Exactly. When the godless liberals take over, this country just may go to hell. All of the strife in the world is due to sin, whether it is in the form of a false religion that professes eternal orgasisms with virgins or liberals aborting young, innocent babies to pure, plain cowardice toward responsibility.

I'm a South African, and I must say, I think it's TRUE. Unless the citizens of the USA live according to the correct morals.

The real question isactually, what morals are you talking about?

I don't see that, I think America's plenty strong to withstand just about anything the world throws at it, and we can solve our domestic problems, too....get the citizens involved, and you'd be surprised what can happen! Civic participation is a Good Thing,
and the more of that we have in our communities, including a SENSE of community that's derived from that participation, the better off we'll be.

True. The Roman Empire died the same way, people were sleeping with everyone, even animals. If people have no morals, there is no lifestyle to protect so they don't care who forms the government. Result: government falls.
