Small wedding, inmediate BIG party afterwards!

You are both in your 50's and it will be silly to habe bridemaids and flower girls...don't you think? Do a small ceremony and host a big party with all of your friends present..... Congratulations and good luck!

If money is not an option then I would go with a full blown affair. You do not need the flower girl or bridesmaids. All you need is a best man and maid of honor. There is nothing wrong with having everyone invited to to the ceremony and the reception.

Now if money was an issue then I would do large ceremony and then intimate dinner with just very close friends and immediate family.

My sister in law's husband was married 2x before and they are in their 40's and they had a huge wedding. Has nothing to with age or whether the both of you have been married before.

Its your day to celebrate. Celebrate it the way that will make you happy whether that means a candlelit ceremony or at the cathedral.

Congrats and good luck

It depends on how long it's been since the end of the first marriage for each of you. If say, you both got divorced last year and you want to get married now, then keep it small, as a large wedding would be an awkward thing to those who are friends to both you and your exes. But if it's been many years, then go with the big traditional wedding!! You deserve it!!

OK...my hubby and I had the same problem. We had a small intimate wedding at a friends house and then had a big reception and invited everyone we knew. We had the reception in out favorite bar and picked up the tab for the drinks and had it catered in buffet style. Nothing outlandish, but everyone had a good time.

If budget allows, small intimate ceremony at an all-inclusive resort, like Riviera Maya. Thats what my friends daughter is doing (she's only 25), it sounds like a great idea. They went to a travel agency, a wedding planner at the resort is taking care of everything. No hassle, less stress, they just have to show up! There's hundreds of packages to choose from. If the beach isn't your thing go to Vegas!
When they return there will be an informal party to celebrate. Think thats what I want to do next time around!

A small private wedding ceremony that includes the traditional things followed by a grand celebration (reception) with all your loved ones.

With so many friends you guys must be very special people. Why not rent a house near the water and have a huge festive clam bake or a hawaiian themed party. Sounds like a lot of fun and would make wonderful pictures. It would also be easier on the pockets and you would get the opportunity to invite all of your friends. Good luck.

Since a wedding is more for the bride then the groom, (meaning all the details, dress, things being just so ect..) I would ask your Gf what she wants, maybe she wants the opposite of what she had the first time around.. Your focus should be on what she wants.. not what the rest of us think....
